Job Description:

  • Responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and pro-active development of the whole bidding process. Ensuring the customer is kept up to date with progress throughout the sales/tendering process.
  • Engaging with our marketing and resourcing teams to drive the growth and provide consistent approach.
  • Leading the tender yes/no process prior to all bids.
  • Developing a deep understanding of projects to gain insights into the scope of service delivery.
  • Leading commercial and qualitative propositions for multiple, concurrent, complex bids.
  • Providing support with all elements of bids; compilation, written quality questions and commercial proposals.
  • Processing enquiries in order to achieve the best performance outcome in line with turnover and profit budgets.
  • Ensuring consistency and accuracy across all quotations/tenders in accordance with both the company standards and the customer’s requirements.
  • Ensuring all pricing quotations are issued with appropriate commercial Terms & Conditions and that all subsequent contracts are executed accordingly. Check appointment documents at tender stage and cross reference with orders received.
  • Understanding and articulating technical and commercial risks in proposals.
  • Ensuring all tender deadlines are achieved.
  • Supporting with all post-submission communication and any clarification responses as requested by the client.
  • Creating and fostering relationships with clients, partners and associates.
  • Attend interviews, quotation/contract handover meetings.
  • Working closely and pro-actively with the Operations Manager. Facilitating a smooth and robust handover to the operations team.
  • Providing accurate and regular reports to the management on performance of the Tender Team and contribution to monthly KPI’s.
  • Manage staff workload across the Tender Team. Line Manager to Bid Compliance Manager, Bid Writer, Estimator, Proposals Manager and Bid Administrator.
  • Identifying and organising any training needs for members of the team.
  • Report to the Associate Commercial Director.
