  • Managing the preparation and timely submission of all commercial enquiries, PQQ’s and tenders.
  • Manage opportunities via Tenders Direct and allocate to the bid or marketing team as appropriate.
  • Lead Commercial proposition for multiple, concurrent, complex bids with the support of the Associate Commercial Director.
  • Processing enquiries and contracts on time in order to achieve the best performance outcome in line with turnover and profit budgets.
  • Provide accurate detailed quotations in the required timescales in accordance with the customer’s specific requirements.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across all quotations/tenders in accordance with both the company standards and the customer’s requirements. Ensuring all pricing quotations are issued with appropriate commercial Terms & Conditions and that all subsequent contracts are executed accordingly.
  • Assess risk and make recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved.
  • Understand and articulate commercial risks in proposals.
  • Work closely with the resource team to ensure that we produce both high quality and commercially viable proposals.
  • Provision of resource tables, associated fees and draw-downs required for compliant proposals and to maintain accurate contractual information.
  • Ensure customer is kept up to date with progress throughout the sales/tendering process.
  • Responsible for all post-submission communication and any clarification responses as requested by the client.
  • Creating and fostering relationships with clients, partners and associates.
  • Attend quotation/contract handover meetings upon award of successful bids. Facilitate robust handover to resource team. Ensure that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties.
  • Check and approve appointment documents at tender stage and orders once received in regards to awarded projects.
  • Resolve issues with contracts and commercial operations in relation to all bids and act as an escalation point for all commercial, administrative issues with the customer, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Contribution to monthly KPI’s. Aid with forecasts, budgeting, trend analysis and variances between actuals and original business plan.
  • Dedicate time to collate feedback and analyse reasoning for lost tenders. Use this information to create and implement strategy to improve success rate (commercial only).
  • Competitor bid reviews.
  • Identify and organise any training needs for members of the team.
  • Engaging with our marketing and resourcing teams to drive the growth and provide consistent approach.
  • Line Manager to Bid Compliance Manager, Proposals Manager and Bid Administrator.
  • Report to the Associate Commercial Director.
