Group staff stepped up to raise money for the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund, by accumulating as many steps as they could over a ten-day period step challenge.

The challenge took place from Monday 19th to Wednesday 28th October, with three teams of six individuals going head to head – challenging each other to go the extra mile. The teams consisted of ‘Step Club Six’, “Step Tuplets’ and ‘Tony Mobsters’, who collectively, as an organisation stepped 1,989,787 which is approximately 942 miles.

There can however only be one winning team, and with an impressive 794,977 steps, the 2020 winners were  the Tony Mobsters – Laura Bradshaw, Tony Mobbs, Matt Hodges, Georgie Atkinson, Jess Brown and Harriet Green – and with a personal best, we congratulated Jess Brown who racked up an extraordinary 244,863 steps!

The winners were followed by Step Club Six with 648,768 steps and Step Tuplets with 546,042 steps.

“We were overjoyed with the number of people that took part in this year’s step challenge. We wanted to create a fun challenge in aid of a great cause and by doing so, we have funded a respite break to give a family the quality time together that they need, away from hospitals, doctors and treatment. Thank you to everyone who took part.”

Head of Marketing, Kathy Clarke

This step challenge forms part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, which is formed based around four pillars: Community, Education, Sustainability and Employment, and includes lots of corporate events, charity donations, pro-bono projects and community work throughout the year.

Since the charity started in 1992, Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund aims to make a positive difference to the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and they achieve this by offering practical, financial and emotional support to the whole family through their wide range of projects.
